PRIMA® X-PE foams cross-linked, closed-cell structure offers outstanding mechanical and physical properties, including high resistance to fatigue compared with other cellular plastics. PRIMA® X-PE is easy to install and provides excellent acoustic insulation across a number of applications. PRIMA® X-PE foam is ideal for use on flooring systems in reducing impact noise across low, medium, and high frequencies in residential and commercial premises.
The closed cell structure gives Prima X-PE foam excellent thermal insulation properties.
The resilient layer allows the impact noise transmission to be significantly improved when used within floor structures. The product complies with the recommendations for resilient layers in APPROVED DOCUMENT E of BUILDING REGULATIONS 1992.
No CFC’s or other ozone depleting chemicals are used during the products manufacture. The partially cross-linked product retains thermoplastic properties and can be recycled.
The product is unaffected by generally available solvents and chemicals.
The closed cell structure plus chemical nature of this resilient product means the water absorption is extremely low, removing the risk of screed cracking due to water extraction from screed layers by the resilient layer.
The cross-linked structure gives good resistance to permanent deformation (compression set) under load. The material also has increased dimensional stability.
This flexible product can be cut with a craft knife or scissors with ease, generating no dust or hazardous airborne fibres.
